JNVCC Sewing Mission & Pregnancy Resource Center
The Sewing Mission at Jim Ned Valley Church of Christ is blessed to serve in many areas of need, and one of our ongoing partnerships is with the Pregnancy Resource Center of Abilene.
The Pregnancy Resource Center of Abilene is a Christ-centered nonprofit that exists to offer help and hope to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. Their mission is to save lives, strengthen families, and share the gospel. Through free pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, educational programs, material support, and compassionate counseling, Pregnancy Resources walks alongside mothers and fathers from the first days of pregnancy through the early years of their child’s life.
As part of this effort, the JNVCC Sewing Mission lovingly creates handmade receiving blankets, burp cloths, and infant quilts for Pregnancy Resources to share with new mothers and their babies. Each piece is sewn with care, prayed over, and meant to wrap little ones in warmth and comfort while reminding families they are loved and supported.
Pregnancy Resources is also encouraged to submit special requests for unique situations or specific needs of an individual mother or child. When this happens, our congregation responds as a whole, coming together to meet those needs with generosity and compassion.
This partnership is more than the sharing of fabric and thread; it is an extension of God’s love, a way to offer tangible encouragement to mothers, and a reminder that both they and their children are valued and cherished.
As we stitch each blanket and quilt, we pray that they will be a blessing keeping babies warm, comforting new moms, and pointing families toward the hope found in Christ.
