Sewing Mission Outreach
Sewing for God
The Sewing Mission Outreach is designed to serve in four important capacities:
-
Equipping Our Members
Providing a space for JNVCC members to:
Learn basic sewing skills (e.g., sewing on a button, hemming a dress or jeans)
Become familiar with sewing machines
Participate in service projects to benefit:
Children and adults
Family Services children
Nursing and retirement homes
The needy in our community
-
Community Outreach
Open to individuals in the Jim Ned Valley community who:
Cannot afford a sewing machine
Would like to learn how to sew for their families
-
Service to Others
Creating items of comfort, necessity, and encouragement for people in need—locally and beyond.
-
Spiritual Focus
Every session will begin with a devotional, which includes:
A reading from the Scriptures
A brief reflection or message
A prayer
So that all in attendance will have the opportunity to hear the Word of God.
The Bennie Mouser Sewing Mission Room
This sewing ministry is lovingly named in memory of Bennie Mouser, a faithful member of the Lord’s church who went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2025. Bennie generously donated the initial startup costs for this service project. Despite facing stage IV metastatic bladder cancer and entering hospice care, she reached out with urgency and passion to see this vision become a reality. Her dedication and desire to bless others continue to inspire us all.
The room is located in the north hallway leading out of the fellowship hall.
Honoring Bennie’s Legacy
Bennie’s life was marked by a servant heart, a deep love for the Lord, and a desire to leave a lasting impact. The Sewing Mission Room stands as a tribute to her faith and generosity—providing a place where others can learn, grow, serve, and encounter the love of Christ.
"She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."
—Proverbs 31:20
